Itinerary
Day 1: Marrakech - Atlas Mountains - Ait Benhaddou - Dades Gorges
Depart Marrakech after breakfast and cross the High Atlas Mountains, driving across the stunning Tizi N'Tichka Pass over 2,000 meters above sea level. In the afternoon, explore the UNESCO World Heritage Site Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, a magnificent fortified city, then visit Ouarzazate and its famous film studios before continuing to the oasis of Skoura and the Kasbah of Amrhydil. Travel through the luscious Valley of Roses to the Dades Valley by evening, arriving at your cozy hotel in Dades Gorges for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 2: Dades Gorges - Todra Gorges - Merzouga Desert Camp
Enjoy breakfast at your hotel with views of the Dades Gorges, then head to the fascinating Todra Gorges to walk through the towering canyon walls and enjoy the fresh mountain air. Drive through Tinjdad and Erfoud in the afternoon towards Merzouga, the town of dunes, with optional climbing and exploration at the gorges before departure. In the evening, ride camels on a journey into the Sahara dunes, witness a magical desert sunset, and arrive at the desert camp for dinner with nomads, traditional trance music, and stargazing under the vast sky.
Day 3: Desert Sunrise - Rissani - Draa Valley - Marrakech
Wake early to witness a spectacular desert sunrise from the high dunes, then ride camels back to Merzouga where you enjoy breakfast and a refreshing shower. In the afternoon, visit the great oasis of Tafilalt, where the roots of Morocco's Royal Family reside, and drive across the scenic Draa Valley towards Ouarzazate. Continue from Ouarzazate back to Marrakech by evening for drop-off at your riad or hotel, marking the end of your Grand Morocco tour.
