Itinerary
Day 1: Marrakech to Boumalne Dades
Begin your journey with an early morning departure from Marrakech at 8:00 AM, traveling through the majestic High Atlas Mountains via the scenic Tizi N'Tichka Pass. Enjoy breathtaking landscapes and traditional Berber villages along the way before arriving at Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its remarkable earthen architecture and famous as a filming location for Gladiator and Game of Thrones. After exploring the site and enjoying lunch, continue to Ouarzazate, often referred to as the 'Hollywood of Africa.' The journey then proceeds through the palm groves of Skoura and the beautiful Valley of the Roses, ending at your hotel near the spectacular Dades Canyons in Boumalne Dades.
Day 2: Boumalne Dades - Tinghir - Merzouga
After breakfast at 8:00 AM, depart towards the oasis of Tinghir, where you will explore the lush palm groves and the impressive Todra Gorges, famous for their dramatic limestone cliffs. Continue to the town of Tinejdad, then onward to Erfoud, known for its fossil workshops and date markets. From there, travel to Merzouga, located on the edge of the magnificent Sahara dunes. In the afternoon, embark on a camel ride across the golden sands, where you will witness a breathtaking sunset. Dinner and overnight stay in a luxury Berber desert camp under the stars, featuring traditional hospitality, campfire dinner, and local entertainment.
Day 3: Merzouga to Marrakech
Wake early to admire the sunrise over the dunes before departing towards Marrakech. Your journey passes through the village of Rissani, where you can visit local fossil workshops. Continue driving toward Agdez, known as the gateway to the Draa Valley and its vast palm groves. A stop will be made in Ouarzazate for lunch before continuing through the High Atlas Mountains back to Marrakech. Arrival in Marrakech is scheduled for the late afternoon, marking the end of your unforgettable desert adventure.
