Journey through the dramatic High Atlas landscapes, crossing the Tizi N'Talghamt Pass and the winding Ziz Gorges with incredible photo opportunities. After lunch, pass through Midelt, the 'apple capital,' before marveling at the lush, palm-filled Ziz Valley. Reaching Merzouga, the gateway to the Sahara, you are warmly welcomed with traditional Saharan mint tea before checking into a cozy riad.
Day 2: Erg Chebbi: Camel Ride & Desert Experience
Begin with a visit to Khamlia, a village renowned for its Gnawa music and culture, where you enjoy their vibrant rhythms, meet nomadic families, and experience their way of life. Savor a traditional Berber pizza for lunch before heading to Rissani, a historic town surrounded by more than 300 ancient fortresses (ksars), and explore its bustling souks filled with local treasures. As the day winds down, embark on an unforgettable camel ride into the golden dunes of the Sahara to witness a mesmerizing sunset. Spend the night under a starlit sky in a traditional nomad camp, with dinner and music around the campfire.
Day 3: Merzouga to Todra Gorges & Dades Valley
Rise early to witness a breathtaking Saharan sunrise atop the dunes, then continue towards Tinghir. Along the way, visit khettaras, a traditional underground water management system, and the Todra Gorges, where towering cliffs and a picturesque oasis make a perfect spot for lunch and exploration. Continuing through the captivating Dades Valley, you marvel at the striking rock formations known as the 'Monkey Fingers' and the ancient sandcastle-like kasbahs. The day ends at a luxurious riad in the Dades Valley, offering sweeping views of the surrounding landscapes.
